Lincoln Law is a consumer rights law firm. We believe in justice and people. After all, Lincoln Law was named after Abraham Lincoln — to be a firm ‘for the people.’ We believe in helping individuals — many of whom lack the resources to fight for or defend themselves. This is especially true against large corporate entities, which often have vast resources and either willingly or negligently violate the law, hurting consumers as a result.
Since 2001, our services have grown out of a genuine need to provide more comprehensive solutions for our clients. Below are the main areas in which we help.
Bankruptcy
The heart of Lincoln Law's practice. We leverage Federal and State Bankruptcy Codes — and local court rules — to help individuals and families stop collections, protect their property, and discharge unmanageable debt. We handle both Chapter 7 (a faster discharge, typically three to four months) and Chapter 13 (a three- to five-year repayment plan that can save a home or car).
Debt Collection Violations
Many people facing financial hardship also have their consumer rights violated — and don't know it. Lincoln Law educates clients on what to look for and what evidence to collect. In some cases, an egregious debt collection violation can itself resolve a debt without the need for bankruptcy. This area is governed by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
